UF Race Weekend Results

I apologize about the length of time it’s taken to post the results from last weekend, but it’s been a crazy week.
Here’s the quick version (if that’s possible):

Team updates
We did the Team kit switcharoos as needed for proper sizing.
• If you haven’t checked the team and individual points series, you may be surprised to see Cycle Logic ranked:
- 10th Cat 4’s
- 4th Junior 10-12’s with Justin Pfaff ranked 4th individually.

Saturday’s Time Trial- held in the quaint city of Alachua, FL.
• Individual time trialists went off in the morning, and Cycle Logic was represented in 3 different categories.
- In the Cat5, 55+ we had John Duggan, who placed 3rd!!
- In the Masters 35+ Scott Pfaff placed 18th. That’s a tough slot with a bunch of 1, 2, and 3 riders.
- And last, but certainly not least, our star player Mr. Justin Pfaff placed 4th in the Juniors aged 10-12.
Congratulations to all of you. Individual time trialing is certainly not an easy discipline.

• Team time trials departed in the afternoon, with two Cycle Logic teams competing against each other in the Cat3, 4, 5 slot (a friendly, inter-team rivalry):
- The Cycle Logic Ocala team included Ed Sabol, Ron Palsgrove, James Penrod, and Veronica Geist.
- The Cycle Logic Gainesville team included Paul Messal, Roger Montes, Scott Pfaff, and Rodrigo Sagastegui.
- To the surprise of most, the Ocala team edged out the Gainesville contingent by 50 seconds.
Congratulations go out to both teams.

Sunday’s criterium - held in downtown Gainesville, FL.
The course included a pretty nasty brick/ cobbled section that initially seemed like it would take it’s toll on riders given the severity and quantity of the bumps, potholes, and protruding manholes, but fortunately Cycle Logic made it through the day safely.

Cycle Logic was represented well in several categories:
• Scott Pfaff finished in the main pack of the 35+ Men’s category, and appeared to position himself well throughout the race.

• I tell you, our young Justin Pfaff is making a name for himself in the Junior 10-12 group!! This guy is going to be in this age group for another two years, and it is evident that he is and will be the one to beat for this year, and years to come. Justin finished second in the 10-12 criterium on Saturday!!

• Cat. 4’s included Cycle Logic Teamates Roger Montes, Paul Messal, James Penrod, Josh Pittman, and a second race for Scott Pfaff who was the best placed finisher with 14th.

• Cat. 5’s included Ron Palsgrove, Anthony Hutton, and Micheal Brown. The race stretched the group out from the beginning, and stayed that way throughout the race ending with a pretty select group to battle it out at the line. Michael Brown finished the best out of our three riders at 5th, and Anthony and Ron finished 11th and 12th, respectively.

Congratulations to all riders for all events, and a big THANK YOU goes out to everyone that showed up to cheer us on. It really does make a huge difference to have a team of great friends backing us while we’re out there racing. Fun was had by all both Saturday and Sunday.

As a side note, team photos were taken Saturday. Hopefully those will be posted soon.

As for other photos taken by various sources, I’d like to set up a photo site so everyone can post photos as needed, and can be viewed/ printed/ saved by all.

***here on some shots gathered so far...there may be more to come???
