I have to first say thank you to Paul for informing us of the course layout. The hill was a wicked killa, just as he said.
The course was short, and smooth, with a nice incline to the finish line. That ‘nice’ incline, however turned ugly after a few bouts at over 20mph on the back of the pack. Josh and myself couldn’t take too much of that, but a few of our riders faired very well.
In the AM, Justin Pfaff took the bronze medal in the junior’s 10-12 race. His stellar performance may have been aided by his brand new Scott CR1 bike. *see more of Justin here, here and here.
In the early afternoon, Anthony Hutton positioned himself in the Category 5 race to battle against the hill and the other front runners in a dead sprint starting from the bottom, and extending all the way to the finish line to gain 5th place.
Our newest Category 4 rider, Mr. Steve DeRoche (NOT Deleroche), stayed in the pack to the end against the urging of his ailing body, and somehow pulled out a 5th place finish. With a single rider off the front of the main pack, and another single rider off the front chasing the leader, Steve battled it out to cross the line 3rd in the main pack.
Congratulations to all of our racers. You all deserve it.
Remember the State Road Race is coming up June 9 & 10, and Cycle Logic is paying the entries. Check Floridacycling.com for details.

Congratulations to all of those who braved that course!
I'm looking forward to seeing how Steve D. hands it to the field in the state RR when we'll have Roger and Moose in there not to mention we'll probably be rolling 6 strong!
Justin Pfaff is well placed to finish in the top 3 of the Florida Points Series in his age group...and he still has another year to dominate that catagory, Great job Justin!
