Lake Mary race report - Ken Sallot

I woke up Sunday morning feeling a little stiff and sore after crashing out of the Sanford crit on Saturday. Racing would hurt today, but I felt that if I was able to get a good 90 minute warm-up I'd be able to loosen up my hip enough that I should be able to play.

I arrived at the course right before the Juniors race and I got the opportunity to watch Justin Pfaff barnstorm the group and rack up his second W for the weekend. He really dug deep and threw it all on the line for the sprint finish, nearly puking his guts out in the process. For being all of 11, that kid's both strong willed and a talented rider. Scotty, drop your son now every chance you get because you won't be able to in another three years.. ;)

After the Juniors I relaxed in a lawn chair and watched the P/1/2 race. The combination of beautiful weather and a wide open course meant that the pros were ripping the roads up while barnstorming down the way. When there was about twenty minutes left in that race a break...click here for more

Get Well Soon Kerry...

At this past weekend's race in Gainesville, FL during the Masters 45+ criterium, Cycle Logic member, Kerry Duggan, was involved in a crash that sent him careening into a pole on the backside of the downtown course.

Kerry was transported to Shands via ambulance and has been diagnosed with a broken wrist - a clean break below the radius. He is in a fibreglass cast and will not require surgery. Although it was feared that Kerry had fractured his femur, the doctors don't belive it is broken despite quite a bit of swelling.

When spoken to at around 7pm Sunday night, Kerry was in very good spirits. He was only taking ibuprofen for the pain so it sounds as if he's handling the pain well. At the time he was looking forward to getting out of the hospital!

We all wish Kerry a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the bike soon.

Post your get well wishes to Kerry here.

It has been broughten...

This coming Saturday is the final installment of the "Bring It On" practice crit series. We've been fortunate to have some great gifts donated to us for primes and prizes throughout the series, but one lucky cyclist from the Men's A race this weekend will win a custom handmade messenger bag from Gainesville's own Mike Arena.

Crafted specifically for the "Bring It On" series, the bag is creatively embroidered with the words, "Brought It 2008". These bags could sell for millions, but if you've got the legs...come out to Progress Park in Alachua, Florida this Saturday at 2:00pm and try to win Mike's bag!

Photos from week 1

Cycle Logic is working to make race photos available to those interested in purchasing them. Below are just a few samples of photos taken during the first week of racing at the "Bring It On" crit series in Alachua, Florida.
Please check back for more information as it becomes available.
