Team Startup Update - Cycle Logic

Who is Cycle-Logic?

Cycle Logic is a budding new team currently consisting of several up and coming Category 4 and 5 cyclists.  We started The Cycle Logic Bicycle Racing Team, well because 'it just makes sense'.  Individually, we come from different sporting backgrounds including triathlon, swimming, running, bodybuilding and football, but cycling has brought us all together.  We have all been riding for some time, and our racing experience ranges from one to several years.  While batting around the idea of forming a new team, we all agreed the key to a successful team, is a successful team atmosphere where the concentration is first and foremost on enjoying ourselves and our friendship while supporting each other at races and events.

Currently we are working on finalizing some important presentation information to provide potential sponsors and teammates.  Once the initial footwork is complete, we will be hitting the road, drumming up sponsorship throughout Central Florida.

We are all excited about Team Cycle Logic, and look forward to showing off our team in the spring of 2007.

Welcome

Age: 38

Home: Gainesville, FL

Occupation: Graphic Designer

Race category: Masters 35+, Cat 4

Race Type: Road Races, Sprints, Lead-outs

My Steeds: 2012 Giant TCR Advanced SL, 2010 Cannondale SuperSix-HighMod, 2004 Ridley

Why I started biking: I originally started cycling when I was in middle school because Greg Lemond was my hero, I thought aero-bars were cool and I was "training" for the MS150. Then I went to college, didn't ride at all, drank too much beer, gained some weight, graduated and needed to get back in shape.

Favorite bike ride: Any ride where I'm first to the city limit sign, first to the sprint sign at the end of the ride and don't get dropped in the hills along the way.

Greatest accomplishment: On the bike - Following the 2009 Tour de France and riding climbs like Verbier, Alp D'Huez, Petit Saint Bernard, Telegraph, Galibier, Col de Romme and Mont Ventoux.
Off the bike - My two beautiful kids.
Way off the bike - Placing 5th at the World Bartending Championships, 2003.

Dream Bike: the one that comes with a full-time mechanic to keep it rolling like new.

Met my wife Leslie in the Ohio State Cycling Club, and have biked ever since.

Greatest accomplishment: Graduating from University of Florida, B.S. in Civil Engineering.

My Steed: Specialized Tarmac Expert

Why I started biking: I ran cross country all throughout high school, and my first year of college. I would get injuries periodically due to stress fractures, and would ride my bike to cross train. It didn't take me long to figure out that biking was way more fun than running.

Favorite bike ride: Six Gap Century, 2006!! My boyfriend and I rode together, which made the experience a lot of fun...despite the fact that it POURED for nearly the entire ride! I was scared to death on the descents, but I loved the climbs. It was beautiful and epic and I loved every minute of it!

Greatest accomplishment: If I get through it, completing my Ph.D will be my greatest accomplishment.

Strangest bike setup ever seen: Handlebar streamers on a super-expensive carbon fiber bike at Superweek in Wisconsin. It was awesome.

Dream Bike: I don't really have one. Anything that's reliable and shifts OK is fine for me. Besides, it's the legs and heart that count, not the bike.

Highest recorded 'on-bike' speed/ location: 51 mph on a descent off a mountain in Hunstville, Alabama. I thought I was going to die.
